LEAD IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK)

As a LEAD IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK), GS-2210-12, you will monitor all networks infrastructure within the Air National Guard (ANG). This monitoring will ensure proper usage and security of ANG computer networks, and will provide guidance through planning, coordinating, and directing all network functional areas. Work involves planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Enterprise Controller leading a team of no fewer than three (3) Information Technology (IT) technicians performing network administration duties. The base level of the team led is GS-11. -- Serves as the Enterprise Controller leading a team of no fewer than three (3) Information Technology (IT) technicians performing network administration duties. The team administers all core network services provided by the NOSC for the ANG enterprise. Incumbent oversees four (4) specialized network administration disciplines (infrastructures, messaging, configuration management, and applications specialist). Conducts analyses of network usage, customer complaints, traffic interruptions, hardware and software capabilities, adverse trends, ineffective practices or procedures, equipment shortcomings, and other relevant factors. Analyzes equipment and software reliability and utilization to identify and correct problem areas. Recommends methods and procedures and coordinates corrective action to optimize utilization of present equipment. Coordinates the installation, configuration, testing, maintenance, upgrade and troubleshooting of network and application server hardware, network operating system software, and peripheral network equipment such as routers, bridges, cabling system, network interface cards, modems, multiplexers, and concentrators. -- Communicates the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision and values to the team and integrates them into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services. -- Communicates to team members assignments, projects and problems to be solved; actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review; and deadlines and time frames for completion. -- Coaches the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem solving methods and techniques. Provides advice on methods, practices and procedures, and assists the team and/or individual members in identifying the parameters of a viable solution. -- Leads the team in identifying, distributing and balancing tasks among specialists in accordance with skill level and/or network administration discipline. Makes adjustments to accomplish the workload in accordance with established priorities to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned team tasks. -- Trains or arranges for the training of team members in methods and techniques of team building and working in teams to accomplish tasks or projects, and provides or arranges for specific administrative or technical training necessary for accomplishment of individual and team tasks. -- Serves as coach, facilitator and/or negotiator in coordinating team initiatives and in consensus building activities among team members. -- Maintains program and administrative reference materials, project files and relevant back-ground documents and makes available policies, procedures and written instructions from the crew commander; maintains current knowledge to answer questions from team members on procedures, policies, and directives. -- Plans, develops, and implements local policies, procedures, and goals for effective administration, direction, management, and operation of the section. Maintains current information on system/equipment status, modifications, and related matters through on-site visits and use of unit support functions in order to analyze and report the organizations mission support posture. Initiates action required to maintain maximum degrees of efficiency and reliability. -- Maintains constant coordination between workgroups within and outside of the unit, because complexity, cost, and uniqueness of the work involved require considerable planning and coordination. Many projects require substantial interaction among several different units and organizations to complete. Works to bring many resources together in a timed and coordinated sequence to accomplish projects in a timely and efficient manner. -- Prepares and submits budget estimates and revisions for the procurement, installation, and operation/maintenance of equipment and supply items. --Performs other duties as assigned. Experience:
Experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems. Experience:
Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
